USA is an outgrowth of the evolution of utility industry deregulation proposals,
concepts and actual implementation in some areas of the country. USA provides the framework to
allow its members to collectively achieve benefits and economies of scale that are possible in a
utility or company with several nuclear sites.
USA has two major objectives:
- To improve individual plant and fleet performance.
- To reduce operating and maintenance costs.
USA has a corporate office in Overland Park (Kansas City area); however, USA is primarily
represented by the leadership and activities organized and managed by its member plants.
After ten years of operations, it has been confirmed that USA members can save upwards
of several million dollars per year through USA initiatives and activities.
In addition, the personnel and equipment sharing programs have supported quality-based
improvement activities and projects in the areas of Operations, Maintenance, Quality Assurance,
Quality Control, Radiation Protection, Nuclear Licensing, Industrial Safety, Engineering, and more . |
