USA fleet member PSEG Nuclear’s Women In Nuclear (WIN) chapter recently attended the National Conference in Austin, Texas where they received the large chapter Public Outreach Award. This achievement reinforces the chapter’s commitment to their community.

The WIN National Conference provided perspectives from national authorities on key issues, as well as ample professional development opportunities for attendees. In addition, there were opportunities to network with more than 7,000 men and women in the nuclear industry.

PSEG Nuclear intern, Savannah Racer, attended the WIN National Conference as a sponsored student and spoke to the effectiveness of the Public Outreach session in which the PSEG chapter provided some helpful tactics that contributed to their recent success.

“Effective Public Outreach is a great way to see and get ideas from other nuclear facilities on what worked and what didn’t for outreach activities. This session was all about reaching out to the youth at young ages to educate them about the nuclear industry,” said Racer.

The mission of PSEG WIN is to support an environment in nuclear energy and nuclear technologies in which women are able to succeed, provide a network through which women in these fields can further their professional development and present an organization association through which the public is informed about nuclear energy and nuclear technologies.
