STP employees were out in force on Friday, March 7, participating in the annual Matagorda County American Cancer Society Relay for Life event. The walkathon to support cancer research began at 6 p.m. Friday and ended with the closing lap Saturday morning at 5 a.m. A total of more than $113,000 was raised at this year’s event. STP employee teams helped raise more than $27,000 of the total amount.

“Our employees do a great job raising funds for this very worthy cause,” said STP President and CEO Dennis Koehl. “There is a lot of planning and effort that goes into an event like this. I am proud of the work our employees do to support our local community.”

STP’s Records Management System (RMS) team raised more than $10,000 for this year’s event. The RMS group held fundraisers – bake sales, raffles — throughout the year to raise funds for Relay for Life.
