The votes are in!! The 2012 Utilities Service Alliance (USA) Suppliers of the Year are AP Services, Material Suppler of the Year, and PKMJ Technical Services, Services Supplier of the Year. The winners were announced today at USA’s 19th Annual Executive Summit being held in Hot Springs, Virginia.

“These two honorees reinforce and exhibit a commitment to USA’s mission of ‘working together for mutual success’,” stated Steve Willrett, USA Vice President-Supply Chain. “USA is proud to honor their commitment to the fleet as well as all of our suppliers who work together with us.”
Suppliers are chosen for this prestigious award by representatives from the eight USA member utilities. Fleet members complete evaluations and scoring for USA suppliers based on multiple factors, including quality of products and services, continuous improvement and realized savings.

AP Services has won the Material Supplier of the Year Award four years in a row. AP Services provides Fluid Leak Management (FLM) products and services, and has brought much value to the fleet through their FLM program and involvement in the FLM users group.

At the beginning of this year, AP Services was acquired by Curtiss-Wright Flow Control, a leader in designing and manufacturing highly engineered valves, pumps, electronics and related products.

PKMJ has won the Services Supplier of the Year Award three years in a row. PKMJ is an engineering firm best known for their Proactive Obsolescence Management Software (POMS). They have also developed other software and processes to help plants manage equipment and parts with the most recent being their Proactive Integrated Equipment Reliability and Strategic Sourcing program, know as PIERSS.

PKMJ has been recently acquired by Rolls Royce, a London-based firm who provides nuclear power plant operators with integrated, long-term solutions and support services that span the whole reactor lifecycle.

Even though AP Services and PKMJ have each won several years in a row, there are some excellent suppliers right on their heels who are deserving of mention as well.

•Material Supplier of the Year Runner-Up (2nd Place): Frham Safety
•Material Supplier of the Year Honorable Mention (3rd Place): Nova, a division of Curtiss-Wright Flow Control.
•Services Supplier of the Year Runner-Up (2nd Place): Crane Nuclear
•Services Supplier of the Year Honorable Mention (3rd Place): Bartlett Nuclear and Schulz Electric (tie)

Congratulations to all the winners!
