The Xcel Energy Monticello and Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plants have recently announced new leaders at the helm. Most recently, Kevin Davison was named site vice president at Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant. Karen Fili was announced the site vice president of the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant in late August.

“Karen and Kevin have each demonstrated strong leadership and developed the knowledge and skills needed to lead nuclear plant operations,” said Tim O’Connor, senior vice president and chief nuclear officer.

Davison, who joined Xcel Energy in 2010 as Prairie Island plant manager, has been director of site operations at the plant since November 2011. He has extensive experience in nuclear plant operations and has filled leadership positions in nuclear plant maintenance, work management and training. Davison succeeds Jim Lynch, an executive from the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations who returned to INPO after serving as site vice president at Prairie Island since October 2012.

Fili, who joined Xcel Energy in 2011 as vice president for Capital Projects, previously held leadership positions at Entergy and First Energy in maintenance, operations, oversight, project management, engineering and business services.
