USA Supply Chain Winter Conference
Each year in January, the USA Supply Chain Management Team hosts a Winter Conference for its Members and Supplier-Partners. We seek a unique and beautiful venue where participants can get away from the day to day grind to focus on strategy, collaboration and plans for the coming year to maximize the mutual benefits available through Fleet participation and partnership. The Conference is unique in that in addition to outstanding informational presentations and networking opportunities, a significant part of the agenda is devoted to face-to-face meetings between utility members and suppliers. The intent of these break-out sessions is to provide focused time to discuss successes and opportunities to grow the relationships and maximize the benefits offered by USA Fleet Agreements with our world-class Supplier-Partners.
2019 Winter Conference
The 2019 Winter Conference, in beautiful Scottsdale Arizona, features a schedule including meetings of the USA Procurement Engineering, Site Representative and Supply Chain peer teams as well as private supplier presentations to key site stakeholders and our always popular slate of “speed-dating“ meetings between suppliers and utility representatives to discuss agreement status and ways to grow relationships and enhance the benefit enjoyed by all participants. In addition, we’ll have several engaging presentations during the General Session designed to inform and equip attendees on current industry issues and current plans and goals for the new year. All of this will be sandwiched between our opening golf outing and a tour of the National SAFER Regional Response Center. It’s sure to be a valuable and worthwhile experience for all!
2018 Winter Conference
Our 15th Annual Winter Conference convened at the beautiful Opal Sands Resort in sunny Clearwater Beach, Florida. Approximately 120 members, suppliers, and guests enjoyed beaches, shopping, fine dining and a myriad of other activities the area has to offer. We kicked off Monday afternoon with a meeting of the Material Cost Reduction Team discussing our Fleet-wide efforts to implement DNP Efficiency Bulletin 16-30. Tuesday brought meetings of the Supply Chain and Procurement Engineering teams and technical presentations by our Supplier-Partners designed to provide a road map for 2018. We concluded the day with our traditional welcome reception where all attendees and guests could relax, enjoy great food and drink, catch up with old friends and meet new ones too. The next two days were packed full of presentations on a wide variety of topics including USA and EPRI updates, building a strong team, surviving and thriving in challenging times, investment recovery, supplier performance and much more. The Conference also included more than 200 individual breakout sessions (“speed-dates”) between utilities and suppliers – always a key ingredient and extremely popular part of the proceedings. Last, but certainly not least, Dan Murray, Erin Overholt and the Team from Fermi 2 (DTE Energy) were recognized as our 2017 SuperSaver Award Winners as they achieved more than $5 Million in savings through the use of USA Supply Chain programs! Overall, members saved more than $26 Million in 2017 through the hard work of our suppliers and utility members throughout the supply chain. Thank You!
The pictures below will give you a small taste of what the attendees enjoyed in Clearwater. 95% of respondants rated the Conference as “Excellent” and said they intend to attend next year. We’ll go west to Scottsdale, Arizona and look forward to seeing you there!
