PPL Susquehanna’s Rob Littles recently won the Utilities Service Alliance (USA) Excellence Award during its 12th Annual Supply Chain Management (SCM) Winter Conference.
Rob, who led PPL Susquehanna’s Procurement Services organization for nearly three years and very recently transitioned from Supply Chain and Nuclear Procurement organization into PPL’s Energy Supply Information Technology (IT) organization, has helped to lead USA’s SCM Team and served as an outstanding advocate for USA across the Fleet.
USA Board Chairman and PPL Susquehanna Chief Nuclear Officer Timothy Rausch was particularly pleased to hear the news of Rob’s selection.
“Rob Littles is a tremendous leader and team player at Susquehanna Station and within the PPL Energy Supply organization,” said Tim. “I have known Rob for years and I am not surprised that our USA peers recognize Rob for his commitment, energy and expertise. Congratulations on this tremendous industry honor, Rob.”
USA’s Vice President of Operational Performance John Christenson and Manager, Supply Chain Portfolio Jim Kitchens presented the award to Rob. During the award presentation, Jim commented on Rob’s philosophy of working together and using USA Fleet Agreements, as well as always leading by example.
“Rob’s leadership style has been evident on several occasions, presenting best practices and experiences during SCM meetings and conferences, including the 2013 Executive Summit,” said Jim. “Rob never hesitates to step-up and volunteer to lead a team or an initiative with passion and enthusiasm.”
Rob’s engagement with USA included serving on its Obsolescence Team, leading its new Procurement Engineering Team, supported leadership role on the Supply Chain Management Core Peer Team as well as its Strategic Advisory Group. Rob has continued his support of this important Alliance during his transition into IT.
“Perhaps Rob’s biggest contribution to the SCM Team is his leadership of the Supplier Performance Monitoring (SPM) Initiative,” said Jim. “He applied his strong Information Technology background and led this project – which had floundered in the past – to the point where it launched in January 2015 with nearly all USA sites now actively participating. The SPM tool will become a tremendous asset to our members, and promises to be an industry leader in this very important area.”
Jim said the tool will aid the USA fleet in addressing the new INPO ER.3-14 – Monitor supplier performance and feed back to supplier for corrective actions (INPO related AFI).
“Recognizing that no accomplishments are achieved by individuals alone, but by strong, efficient, productive teams, I’d like to thank all members of my team, including my family, Team USA, Team Supply Chain, Team IT & most of all, Team Susquehanna – particularly my Senior Leadership Team for their continuous support,” said Rob.

PPL’s Rob Littles (C) receives this year’s USA Excellence Award during the 12th Annual Supply Chain Management Winter Conference. USA VP Operational Performance John Christenson (L) and Supply Chain Portfolio Manager Jim Kitchens presented this year’s award.
