In response to member feedback, the Utilities Service Alliance (USA) will give Efficiency Member utilities the benefits of team networking call participation and use of the “Jump-Up” call process and software. John Christensen, John Christensen, USA Acting President and CEO, says the new benefits for Efficiency members are effective immediately.

The change comes in response to feedback from both full member and Efficiency Member utilities concerning the desire to be more inclusive and broad for sharing benchmarking and networking opportunities, Christensen says.

“Our networking team focus and foundation is based on sharing lessons learned, supporting each other, benchmarking, and continuous improvement,” Christensen says. “With more people at the table, the expertise and support grows exponentially. This decision is clearly a win-win for all members.”

Attendance on team calls and use of the jump-up call module is strictly voluntary for Efficiency class members.

As previously reported, Efficiency Members will not participate in gap focus area improvements nor will they have access to gap focus owner expertise or individual station support in key areas.  In addition, Efficiency Member stations moving into the INPO ‘Elevate,’ ‘Escalate,’ or ‘Recovery’ status will not get individualized USA member support and attention.

USA is an alliance comprising four Full Member utilities operating nuclear power stations including Columbia, Comanche Peak, Susquehanna and South Texas, and four Efficiency Member utilities operating Fermi, Monticello, Prairie Island, Cooper and Cook nuclear stations. Combined, our Full Member stations generate more than 8,800 megawatts of energy. In addition to administering a network of more than 60 nuclear suppliers, USA helps its members leverage their combined resources, talent and expertise to serve their customers with clean, safe, reliable and cost-efficient energy.
