The USA/STARS Chemistry Peer Team recently released the fleet’s scorecard for the fourth quarter of 2010. FCS Chemistry has toped the list with the best chemistry performance for the quarter.
“Fort Calhoun Chemistry’s number 1 ranking in the Utilities Service Alliance is mostly based on a strong INPO Chemistry Effectiveness Indicator (CEI) performance,” said Chemistry Manager, Ken Kingston. He went on to state, “This CEI value is a station indicator, which shows strong working relationships between Operations, Maintenance, Work Management, Engineering and Chemistry. Even though we rank first presently, we are not perfect in this indicator and still strive for excellence. This recognition demonstrates our foundation of “We are Aligned and our Direction is Crystal Clear”.
The Chemistry Core Peer Team objectives line up with the INPO functional areas as well as traditional groups. The team measures more than 200 parameters across the 17 site fleet. The fleet challenges include department clock resets, CEI, feed-water iron and lithium control in PWRs, and hydrogen water chemistry in BWRs.
