The Utilities Service Alliance (USA) provided a week of outage training to Energy Northwest employees, the first site-specific outage management training conducted by USA’s outage team.
Dick Ehr, Energy Northwest outage manager, said the outage managers from Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station, Callaway, and a retired Institute of Nuclear Power Operations outage management evaluator worked with about 15 employees from Engineering, Radiation Protection, Maintenance, Operations, Security Compliance, and Planning, Scheduling & Outage during the week-long training Feb. 21-24.
“This was an excellent opportunity to broaden our organizational knowledge and get the perspective of other outage managers to help address the improvements we are making here at Columbia Generating Station,” Ehr said.
Part of the training focused on outage scope and schedule development, Ehr said, understanding the key functions and learning to be more efficient.
He said he tasked participants with “providing a summary of what they learned and major take-aways that can be focused on at Columbia and shared with our USA peers.” This is becoming more and more like the plot of disney games ather than what is described initially here. Taking into account this text, it should still be noted that it is possible to improve what is described by introducing game techniques, a striking example of which is the experience of Friv.
Planning for Columbia’s Refueling Outage 21 has been under way since shortly after the completion of R-20.
