Tim Donovan, USA Director Fleet Improvements & Support, has announced his retirement, effective December 31, 2021. Tim joined USA in January 2015 and has had multiple roles leading the operational side of the USA organization.  Of special note, during his time at USA Tim has led and expanded the USA Nuclear Safety Culture Assessment Process, resulting in business at multiple non-USA nuclear utilities, several government agencies, and other key non-nuclear utilities throughout the U.S.  Tim was instrumental in streamlining and automating several key USA processes and his leadership has impacted multiple USA projects and teams over the years.  “Tim and I first met at Clinton Power Station in 1997.  I knew from the moment I met him he had something special to bring an organization and I have been honored to work with him as we have moved through our careers.  He will truly be missed by all who have been fortunate enough to meet him and work with him over the years,” said John Christensen, USA president & CEO.  “I’ve been in this industry for forty years and have been working for more than 50 years,” said Tim.  “Although I’m looking forward to spending some quality time at home with my wife, I am going to truly miss all the great folks I’ve worked with throughout my career, and I wish every one of you all the best.”

Replacing Tim in his role is Alec McGalliard.  Alec recently retired from South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company after 30 years of service. Alec has a background in operations, quality, organizational effectiveness, performance improvement, corporate communication, engineering and is a Nuclear Safety Culture Assessment Team Leader. Alec is a veteran of the United States Navy submarine service. Alec earned a Master of Science in Management and a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering Technology. Alec lives in Bay City Texas with his wife Carrie and has two adult children, Grant, and Chloe.  Alec “I am very excited to work with the USA member stations and the USA Staff as a I am a firm believer in our mission of achieving and maintaining consistent, cost-effective top-quartile performance within the industry,” McGalliard said. “I am confident that working together we can continue to improve our performance and be leaders in the nuclear industry.
