Dreary weather didn’t keep Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant’s good neighbors from attending its recent open house. Approximately 750 people of all ages stopped in the plant’s training center to tour the control room simulator, try science experiments, play games and learn about varied professions. The open house theme, “Good Neighbors for 45 Years,” celebrated the station’s recent 45th anniversary.

Special visitors (pictured from left to right in the image above) included Kent Scott, Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant director of site operations, Pete Gardner, Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant site vice president, Marion O’Neill, Minnesota state representative, Chris Clark, president of Xcel Energy, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Harlan Hanson, Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant plant manager.
