PSEG Nuclear’s Women in Nuclear (WIN) chapter was recently honored at the U.S. WIN National Conference hosted in Boston.

Each year, US WIN recognizes small and large chapters who demonstrate excellence in its strategic objectives: professional development, public outreach and networking. U.S. WIN also recognizes overall chapter excellence. The PSEG WIN chapter is considered a large chapter since it has greater than 25 members.

The 2014 US WIN Award Winners for the large chapters were:
Professional Development – INPO
Public Outreach – Duke Energy
Networking – PSEG Nuclear
Overall – Duke Energy

With a theme of “Leadership in Challenging Times”, the conference focused on promoting a positive outlook on nuclear, leadership lessons for crisis recovery, strategic communication, generational differences, gaining the trust of the community through public outreach and closing with a discussion on industry economics. More than 500 attended.

USA fleet board member Tom Joyce who is president and chief nuclear officer of PSEG Nuclear was one of the conferences keynote speakers for the discussion on the current industry economic challenges. The nuclear energy industry plays an important role in job creation and economic growth, providing both near-term and lasting employment with economic benefits.
