Nine participants of the senior nuclear plant management course visited USA fleet member Columbia Generating Station recently as part of the field activities portion of the course.

The intense five-week SNPM course gives senior management participants a running start on augmenting their leadership skills while working with industry mentors who are proven plant managers, site vice presidents and chief nuclear officers. The seminar focuses on leadership and management principles applied to nuclear plants, including managing risk.

SNPM participants met with counterparts of their current positions and other agency and senior leaders. The team toured Columbia and attended a variety of meetings and training. The participants come from a variety of U.S. nuclear stations as well as from Mexico and the United Kingdom. Following their visit, they will reunite with other SNPM participants who have been at another station to compare their field activity experiences and learning.
