The Utilities Service Alliance (USA) fleet announced the selection today of ten new USA Site Reps/Corporate Functional Area Managers (CFAMs). Effective January 1, 2016, these new positions will be dedicated full-time to USA fleet activities and serve as a technical functional area expert with a focus on governance and ongoing responsibility for USA activities at their respective plants.
“The selection of the members of this new team is a major milestone for the USA fleet as we establish our process and organization that will be proactive in helping to achieve and maintain excellent station performance and safety. We welcome these folks to the team!” said Carl Parry, USA’s President & CEO.
The CFAMs will take on the role of Core Peer Team leadership, which is filled now by employees at Xcel and PSEG, as well as pick up current Management Council (MC) duties. The new Site Reps/CFAMs will be responsible for driving fleet excellence in their functional area as well as facilitating USA fleet activities at their assigned stations.
“I am excited about this strong group of experienced nuclear professionals who will serve as our first dedicated set of USA Site Reps/CFAMs,” noted John Christensen, USA VP – Operational Performance. “The leadership, passion, and dedication of the individuals selected are a testament not only to them, but to the support of the USA Board of Directors and Site Leadership Team for the new USA role and GOSP model.”
Please congratulate the following leaders on their selection as USA Site Reps/CFAMs:

The new Site Rep/CFAM positions are part of the changes announced earlier this year regarding the USA fleet’s new Governance, Oversight, Support and Perform (GOSP) model that will take effect January 1, 2016. The changes are designed to improve alignment with INPO and provide stronger oversight of improvement activities for the USA fleet and its members.
“I am energized by the concept and the process that we are embarking on,” explained Jeff Helsel, USA Director Performance Sustainability. “In our discussions on the candidates, I was impressed by the energy, experience and drive that these leaders are bringing to the team and envision just how powerful we can be in improving our stations and overall USA fleet performance.”
USA fleet leadership expects results under the new model. The USA BOD has set the desired end state at all USA fleet members INPO 1 or 2 by 2019, with sustained excellence in plant operations, equipment reliability, outage performance, training and security. In addition, all performance declines will be quickly detected and corrected.
