During the recent Utilities Service Alliance (USA) Board of Directors Meeting, Aldo Capristo, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of STP Nuclear Operating Company, was elected USA Board Vice Chair.  Capristo has over 31 years of nuclear power experience in multiple disciplines, including several years at Xcel Energy.

Mr. Capristo will serve a two-year term effective immediately.

“USA is excited to have Aldo step into this key leadership position within USA,” said USA President & CEO John Christensen.  “I have known Aldo for many years, and he has always been a strong supporter of USA and USA activities.  I look forward to him continuing to help guide our organization through the challenging times ahead.”

Capristo succeeds Luminant’s Senior Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer Ken Peters, who served as Vice Chair for three years. During his tenure, USA’s leadership model was solidified, and fleet initiatives were implemented to support reduced operating costs and improved nuclear station safety and overall generation performance.

“Ken’s leadership has been instrumental in USA’s fleet performance improvement initiatives,” said John. “We have all benefited immensely from his influence and guidance.”

USA is a not-for-profit cooperative headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, designed to facilitate collaboration among its member utilities. Together, it works to reduce operating and maintenance costs, improve safety and performance, and provide innovation and leadership within the nuclear power industry.
