USA Supply Chain has done some reorganizing. The Supply Chain activities are now divided between two people with two sets of complimentary responsibilities. Jim Kitchens, Manager Supply Chain Portfolio Management, will continue to focus on maintaining existing USA contracts, and adding additional value to the USA contract portfolio through the addition of new contracts. Jim will be the primary interface for negotiations with our vendor partners.

Tim Donovan has joined the USA Supply Chain Staff as of the first of the year as the Manager of Supply Chain Initiatives. His primary responsibility will be to integrate and provide Supply Chain presence and support to all the various USA Teams, and his wealth of diverse experience is going to be an outstanding asset. Tim will work directly with the Supply Chain Core Peer Team, now going into its second year as a team.

Tim brings more than 32 years of experience in the nuclear industry to USA. He served 12 years at Cooper Nuclear Station and 19 years at Clinton Power Station. Tim retired from the Nebraska Public Power District in 2013, but chose to continue his career at Xcel Energy as the Manager of Nuclear Standards. While at Cooper Nuclear Station, Tim served as the Assistant to the Chief Nuclear Officer, Purchasing and Contracts Manager, and various roles in the Training Department. While at Clinton, Tim served in the Training, Operations, Licensing, and Corrective Action Groups.

Both Jim and Tim will be involved in the Supplier Fairs that are held are various fleet sites throughout the year, such as the ones conducted at Fermi, Cook and South Texas in 2014. Columbia, Prairie Island and Monticello are planning Supplier Fairs in 2015 and you can expect to see Jim and Tim during these.

“USA is positioning itself to more fully take advantage of the benefits of being a fleet in the Supply Chain area” said Kevin Moles, USA Director – Fleet Support. “Jim and Tim know how to work with vendors and each of our sites. As teams identify opportunities for procurement savings, USA is better organized with both Jim and Tim to help realize additional savings for our members.”
