Utilities Service Alliance (USA) is excited to announce a new partnership with the Luminant Power Optimization Center (POC) for advanced remote monitoring technologies and services.

“This partnership is the culmination of more than two years of work between the two organizations resulting in a signed agreement effective April 20,” said John Christensen, USA President & CEO. “I appreciate the dedication and hard work put in by the Luminant POC and USA staff to make this happen.”

This agreement provides USA member utilities a unique opportunity to participate in best-in-class advanced remote monitoring technologies at a dramatically reduced cost.
The scope of the new agreement includes:
1. Initial Unit Assessments
2. Setup and Configuration
3. Advanced Monitoring and Diagnostic Services
4. Optional Wireless Vibration Monitoring Services:
a. Instrumentation Assessment
b. Cycle Isolation Assessment
c. Engineering and Technical Consulting Services

“This is a great opportunity for Luminant to partner on cutting edge nuclear industry technology for advanced remote monitoring,” said Clint Carter, Director Operations Services, Luminant POC.

In addition to the signed agreement, USA and Luminant POC continue to work with the Department of Energy (DOE) to obtain funding support using their funding opportunity announcement (FOA) process. If DOE funding is obtained, USA members will realize significant savings in the form of one-time setup fees along with the development and implementation of a state-of-the art software platform developed specifically for this application.
