The USA Work Management Excellence Project is in full swing! As a reminder, the purpose of the project is to provide the necessary tools to allow Utilities Service Alliance (USA) members to execute a standardized evaluation of work management at their station and share learnings. The assessment results will help stations gain insight into the health of work management and develop a graded approach to close potential gaps. Developing an understanding of this information and standardizing the format and presentation of assessment results will allow USA to establish excellence in work management. Assessments have been completed at Columbia, Comanche Peak, Fermi, and Susquehanna with the remainder to be complete by April 2023. Below are a couple key take-aways from the completed assessments:

• Stations need to define and train on roles and responsibilities
• One station identified a delta in the FIN (Fix it Now) Team’s ability to protect the approved work schedule
• Strengths given by INPO in the area of Work Control identified that training for key stakeholders in the Work Control area played a significant role in achieving excellence.
Completed assessment reports are sent to work control leadership at member stations after completion so that we can all learn from the assessments. In addition, following the final assessment next April, we will provide a roll-up report of all of the key learnings – stay tuned!
Thanks to all who have participated and supported the assessments!
